Good morning #train fans. Here I am at #LlantwitMajor station, and here’s my usual commuter train to work - scruffy old class 150…but I’m not going to work today, where shall I go instead? 1/n
Whoa! Another train - this time it’s a locomotive hauled rake of carriages. Looks like a DB class 67 loco and five carriages. What are these? Mark 4? I’m not an expert, but it’s lovely to not have an engine thrashing away under the floor. 2/n
Oh look, there’s the largest working mechanical signal box #Shrewsbury 3/n
There is at-seat catering, and the food looks lush. I went for a walk instead. Have a look at the menu here. https://food-and-drink.tfw.wales/en/at-seat/12217/HD03 4/n
…and another train. This time it’s a Transpennine Express. I’ve heard a lot about this route. It has some amazingly long tunnels, and strong canal action. Those navvies did a huge shift. 5/n
…and here I am. York. I haven’t been here since about 1980, so, high time for another visit. Off to the Station Hall at the #NationalRailwayMuseum today because it’s closed tomorrow. I had a good old poke around, and a very decent scone. A bit too many royals for my liking, but great looking at #trains! 6/n
