Resisting Web Tracking

We have recently discussed how some actors are trying to control the Web by tracking as much user activity as possible. Tracking is done through several mechanisms including third-party cookies, third-party JavaScript snippets, and Web-browser fingerprinting. What these methods have in common is that they allow to uniquely identify a Web browser. When the tracking is shared by multiple Web sites (usually many thousands or even millions), the same Web browser can be tracked across these Web sites and virtually all the Web.
