New day. 8am in Amman. Still a bit more quiet outside as usual because it is the last official holiday for our Eid, so schools etc are still closed.
We used yesterday morning to do a big shopping - in Ramadan we only bought strictly necessary like fresh fruit or milk etc. - to fill up the storage cupboard. I expect rising prices for food, although in Jordan they don't let the "market" profit too excessively of changing prices on the world markets. But at a certain point ...

We were lucky to secure one more canister of olive oil - hopefully now we will last till the next harvest - which is also not sure to produce like they used to.
Sometimes I notice I think more about my grandmother who lived through two world wars. She was very good at using whatever she had and not wasting anything. We did not waste at home, either. These days I am glad for that part of my education.
