Sinners is one of those special movies that elicits conversation after the credits roll. As the movie opens, the story slowly burns giving the characters time to breathe and let the audience bond. When the movie gets going, it gets going.
Ryan Coogler is such a talented director and I look forward to seeing more films from him in the future.
Michael B. Jordan is fantastic as the twins Smoke Stacks -- giving us two distinct performances. The way that the filmmakers managed to shoot both characters on screen at the same time is mind boggling good.
The movie looks so good with its mixed aspect ratio on 4K UHD Blu-ray. The use of Ultra Panavision 70mm and IMAX swallows our vision and is so immersive. Autumn Durald Arkapaw's cinematography is sumptuous.
I highly recommend Sinners.
The kids both rated the movie 7.5 out of 10. I rate it 9 out of 10.
