@jpm I hate those things, they’re quick but shatter the rail so it’s much harder to reuse. We’ve gotten secondhand rail in the past that has been sheared with those things and it’s been a pain to get usable lengths.
Not the worst way to cut though - that would be the “innovative” method of cutting through the rail head with a gas axe and then breaking the web and foot with an excavator grab, which results in even more fracturing and wasted rail
