I need a new camping trolley for… reasons… #StraightOuttaShenzen
Here's the main power circuit board. There's a quite hard conformal coating. Bit messy: Flux residue and a few scraps of loose solder visible around the through hole parts, I'll try to clean off, if it hasn't been coated onto the board.
The DC rail storage is off-board in two 400V rated 680uF caps in series, with screwed in contact mounts. I'm guessing this is a voltage doubler design, good guess @diver300! @kenshirriff has a good summary of these at https://www.righto.com/2021/05/teardown-of-pc-power-supply.html - I wasn't very familiar.
The red wire between the two suggests to me that the same board is probably used with minor tweaks for 3-phase and the 220V output variant. (Plus things like the X-caps being populated for all phases on this single-phase board.)
Excuse me but what the fuck? #StraightOuttaShenzen
You called your company WHAT?! #StraightOuttaShenzen
Yeah ok that’s pretty neat, pity it would send you broke trying to fill it #StraightOuttaShenzen
@ThermiteBeGiants it’s the opposite of what you do #StraightOuttaShenzen
#RejectOfTheDay This 12-port USB charging station has three banks of regulated ports, with a capacity totalling 30A. It can deliver about 4A total before it starts to sag. It will put all its power down one port if you're not careful. I took one port up to 8A before I started to fear for my sanity.
Key features
* All ports in parallel
* No regulation or isolation whatsoever
* Voltage sags drastically under load
* Marked current limit/cacpacity is pure lies
* Your horror here
