On the left is pitcher Howard Ehmke circa 1928 for the American League Philadelphia Athletics. On the right unknown ballplayer for the 1914 Pacific Coast League Los Angeles Angels. Same Person? #sfhistory #sfmemory #baseball
@DavidGallagher it certainly seems so: the nose and upturned edges of the mouth seem to make it a conclusive match for me

@DavidGallagher I'd certainly say so, just going by these photos. Baseball-Reference backs it up; he did play for the Los Angeles Angels in 1914.

@DavidGallagher They look like the same man, but it's hard for me to agree that he would be 14 years older on the left.
@aarbrk well he would supposedly be 20 on the right. and he played for the A's for a few years, not sure exactly when the Philadelphia picture was taken
@DavidGallagher @aarbrk I would almost think he’s older on the right…
@eniatitova @aarbrk oh definitely not. I have other shots from this session , Los Angeles Angels playing at Ewing Field sets the date at 1914
@DavidGallagher @aarbrk but his facial lines are so much deeper. Maybe pre-sunblock, pre-indoor jobs people destroyed their collagen much faster but woof
@DavidGallagher Same chin, same eyes, same nose. I'd say so.
@DavidGallagher Moles around the left side of his mouth make it somewhat certain, for me.
