@mayintoronto I was surprised Chad replied to my separate post on this, saying something about the servers being 'safe and protected' from this story. Here's hoping that's the case.

Though I suppose I shouldn't be surprises that he subsequently deleted his post, apparently after talking to his lawyer.

His reply had said something like "since this dropped late on Friday, I haven't had a chance to talk to my lawyer. However, this silly little thing is no problem and the servers are all safe and secure"

Maybe he asked his lawyers and found out they're neither safe nor secure?

@xinit @the5thColumnist It's legally the right thing to do.

Fedi-wise, the right thing to do is trigger the 90 day instance shut down process to protect the community. Unless someone is ready to take on the biggest Canadian instance right away. (Unlikely)
