Change in Miscellaneous: Added a network lag test. To make this work, your client needs to respond to LAG-TEST as a string on its own line. The response has to be lag_result, once again with no additional text on the line. The official VipMud soundpack has already been made to work with this. The command to initiate a lag test is @lag. Please note that unless your client responds with lag_result, the test is only halfway done and you don't get the result, since the game's ping doesn't get your client's pong as a response, as it were.
@moo The mushpack will also now respond to this once the next version is released. note: I'd release it now, but I still don't have access to the entry in @soundpacks, so let's get on that, mkay? I've asked a host to help with this, but it hasn't happened yet because only *one* person can grant this access, How many squeaky hammers do we have to use to get your attention. CC @staff
@munchkinbear @moo @staff come on, please sort this.
@ChocolatePie @munchkinbear @moo @staff Amen to that. Not exactly sure what’s taking so long.
@Millerd16 @ChocolatePie @munchkinbear this is why, one of the reasons I'm back to star conquest and miriani. when all you have to grind for is better and better and better ships the grind becomes pointless. there's no rp really. everyone just grinds. and if there is rp it's not people getting out anywhere doing stuff. star conquest sure you've got ships. but their upgrades aren't just for ships. activities scale etc. even if there's no player structures there's at least rp. and miriani well. hi ho spacestations moons and planets.
