When you catch yourself referring to a two terabyte hard drive as "tiny" ...
@lauren I mean, they are the size of a chewing gum stick, so...
@faraiwe I mean an actual hard drive, not a creepy SSD.

@lauren

::observes own NVMes to determine level of creepiness::

Dunno, most of my NVMes were just a pain in the ass to affix to their slots, because them screws are TINY and my paws are huge.

@lauren it blows my mind that I can get that much storage on a Micro SD card the size of a finger nail.

@lauren

Remember booting and running Unix v6 off of a 2.5MB RK05 hard drive?

@weaselx86 Yep. We occasionally booted the "A" machine off a DECtape. I still have a drawer full of those babies. And paper tapes.

@lauren

Yes, I remember watching the B machine swap off the DECtape one day after its RK05 drive died. Slow as hell, but it worked -- back and forth and back and forth.

@weaselx86 I've told the story of my coming in one evening and the machine ("A" I think) seemed dead. But I got a prompt, and when I typed, stuff would happen, EXTREMELY slowly. Booting didn't help. Turned out the RTC circuit had died and UNIX was scheduling based on my keyboard interrupts!
