There will be beans. Baked beans. #ItsHappeningAgain
Beans were beaned. #BeanAllTheThings

Guess who got around to making breakfast at 10 am, idly wondered β€œwhy is the stovetop warm?”, then realized he’d forgotten to turn off the 300Β°F oven after making beans yesterday afternoon. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜¬πŸ€£

Anyway the beans are good.

So, as someone who’s been designing websites for 30+ years, the user experience of an oven that has a light indicating that the element is actively heating β€” but no light to indicate that it’s ON β€” is garbage. The potential downsides? Wasting huge amounts of expensive electricity and setting your house on fire (what if I’d gone out for several days?). But the manufacturer saved $3 on a circuit with a light.
@tantramar Oh and I hope they are still making stoves with real controls instead of these touch keys that go off whenever I slightly look at them!
@Dianora A friend has a modern stove. I refuse to touch it even to reheat things. I swear they make things intentionally confusing. (Not that my 40+ year old stove is anywhere near perfect.)
