Has anyone 3D printed with FlashForge flexible PLA or used another flexible filament? I want to use for block print/stamp printing and most TPIU appears to be less flexible that preferred for that application. I have an ancient Ender 3 with a direct drive. It works surprisingly well for regular old PLA.
It seems flexible filaments need to print more slowly which is an advantage with the Ender 3. It only prints slowly!
@davebauerart 9 or 10 years ago I showed off “rubber stamps” at MakerFaire Pittsburgh. I used NinjaTek filaments which were the first on the market. I got my best results with the original NinjaFlex which was the lowest durometer available. Cheetah was a little harder I think, and worked ok too. There was a third even harder one whose name escapes me. You’re right you need to print quite slowly, and I used a little retraction to cut down on stringing. #maker #3dprinting #rubberstamp #makerfaire
@davebauerart the slow printing is offset by the need for only a few layers
@Bobginpgh Thanks this looks like exactly what I need. I've also got a change to use 3D printable movable type for a press that will be interesting as well.
@Bobginpgh Thanks that's great to know. The FlashForge is 40D which seems comparable to 85A so it's worth it to test I think. Now I have a couple of options.
@Bobginpgh Oh the NinjaFlex is a tiny bit more expensive but good to know the options!
@Bobginpgh And if you're looking for a maker get-together where I will be letting folks use these stamps check out the Catskill Mountain Maker Camp!
@davebauerart you may remember we met at the Carolina Sponsored maker meetup in Altoona. I have to make it up to Maker Cap one day, unfortunately that’s a weekend with several conflicts for me.
@Bobginpgh Awesome! I did not make the Fediverse connection. The weekend events up there are also worth it!
