I’ve been very careful to build a high signal fediverse feed and while I do feel I have control over it, I’ve found the issue is that I still fall into the pattern of not stopping to think about what I’ve seen often enough.

The content is different but the learned behavior is still the same 🤔

@tg Same UI, same behaviour!
@jonikorpi that’s exactly what I’m thinking!
@tg @jonikorpi Which platform would be better for this?
@fromtibo @jonikorpi im really not sure. Wish I knew ….
@tg @jonikorpi I still think Mastodon is less annoying than the other microblogging platforms, but I’m always looking for something better.
@fromtibo @jonikorpi I agree. I feel a good sense of control and trust here, and I like the overall vibe and people I interact with.
@tg @jonikorpi What I like is that not everyone is trying to sell you something, it’s more genuine.

@tg Same! I go through a similar phase every once in a while.

Something I’ve written before:

“I try to stay optimistic about these decentralized platforms but sometimes I wonder what we are doing here. Is it out of habit? Is Twitter Zero Sugar really how we should be building communities?

I will say that I love reading links that people share here. I have found so many interesting people and blogs. That’s where Mastodon shines for me, acting as an enhanced RSS feed.”

@hg tg 🤝hg (love that we both have 2 char uns)
