UkeleleEric@wisegreyowl clearly visible here is the lack of facing stones above ground level. Not just due to collapse, but often they were the ones that were easier to remove and had nice cut faces, for re-use. Many local houses, sheds and bridges used them.

@amunizp Cumbria in England. I was walking along the remains of the Roman Empire's Hadrian's Wall which stretches from coast to coast in the North of England.
