i don't really get the #systemd age verification controversy, except that the "age" entry seems to be added at a ridiculously bad time (rogue states passing bad laws): certificates (may) contain full name AND address, and those are regularly sent to other people. i believe ubuntu and other distros (may) ask you about your phone number AND the *room* you are working in, which is saved locally. now, your date of birth MAY BE saved locally, as well.

and yes, for all its balkiness, systemd is *miles* better than anything any distro i'd ever used was doing before. there may be better init systems, but i wouldn't know.
