@MatWright the fact that LLMs and chatbots were put online a few years ago knowing they produced errors should've been proof enough that they were built with bad intentions behind them.

Like, LLMs can't keep state and they're going to be incorrect on up-to-date news, by design. Grok being wrong here could be a legitimate error rather than deliberate disinformation, but then the fact it's there answering at all means its purpose is to be misleading. We're being taught to mistrust all news this way. Similarly with the genAI images pretending to be news footage.

@MatWright tl;dr it boggles my mind that so many educated groups can't critically evaluate either the technology or the AI industry, but instead believe the advertising and have FOMO.
