Have any of you ever used dry #shampoo that you leave in? I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone say they've used it.

It sounds gross, but I need to investigate it due to the #unhoused thing.

@pronounshe it's ok for straight hair but if you have any form of curl definition or moisture issues then it'll dry out your hair pretty hardcore

it may have to do regardless tho, I'm so sorry about your situation

@ghostprince Hm, I do have hair that curls quite a bit. It doesn't get on everything by leaving it in? I imagine coating the inside of the hood on a sweatshirt. I'll see if I can find some tomorrow, though.

Thank you. It's... I don't know. Terrifying. Lonely. Hopefully, it won't last the summer.

@pronounshe - it's very drying, because the way it "cleans" is to simply absorb oils. It doesn't have any antibacterial properties or the like, so it is often heavily scented to cover up smells instead of actually removing them. I've used it (and I try to buy unscented) because sometimes showering is a thing my executive functioning struggles with and it stops you from looking greasy, but it's not a thing you can just do over and over again without getting properly showered at least once a week, because it does build up on your hair and leave it feeling brittle and gross.

@Polywog Thank you for helping me with this. I bought this spray can.It doesn't say it's fragrance-free, so hopefully it's not overly strong. It was the middle ground cost wise. Bonus: It's vegan which is really why I bought it.

I was expecting a powder that I would shake out to my hand then massage it in to my hair. I'm going to try it in a bit. Thanks again for helping me understand this stuff. I'll let you know how it works, if you'd like.

@pronounshe - I hope it helps! I can't imagine how difficult it must be to not have reliable access to a clean place to bathe, and my heart really hurts for you being in that situation.
