We moved from #DFW to #Seattle area, #Kirkland / #Renton "East Side". In February 1996 before #MicrosoftExchangeServer was released, I had a 14 day business trip to #Redmond - I was a certified Microsoft support center teacher for #ExchangeServer - I few #Tristan out for the 3 day weekend. I would always comment to Tristan about how tomatoes all over USA never seemed as good as the #Amish tomatoes in #FortWayne / #Grabill #Indiana - although my father was a chemist / business executive for #RC soda and #Pepsi soda, #Dad grew up on a produce farm (Ohio) and my parents would go to the Amish in Grabill in season.

We did take a trip from Seattle to Indiana to introduce Tristan to my family / parents. And it was summer, and I took her to the Amish retail farm I had frequented in my childhood. And she immediately agreed, the tomatoes has 3 times the flavor of any she had ever had in California, New Mexico, Washington, or Texas.

Tristan and I, after marriage in March 2000... we in 2004 moved to #AricaChile to live for 12 months. Now northern Chile is where a lot of the tomatoes come for #USA in the winter season. And Tristan and I both loved #GreenTomatoes - I often cooked them. So one day our friends in ¡Arica, siempre Arica

Asked us - the told us that the local #TV station had shown the film "Fried Green Tomatoes" 1991 several times. And even though #Arica was a huge tomato grower - nobody believed anyone ate them unripe, green! We laughed and said it was one of our favorite dishes from USA.

There is a huge produce market in #AricaChile - and we would go once a week. And there were dozens and dozens of sellers of tomatoes, but in year 2004 and 2005 - nobody would sell us a "Green Tomato" or believed we were serious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xvlvQ1HwWc
