So, I decided to check out the music 3d plugin that @samtupy made. I decided to test it on a TTS skit type thing that a friend of mine made, and, so far, it, kinda sounds better. By a little bit. It's like, a remastered version sort of. It's starting to sound a bit better. And the TTS engines are in this center type thing that makes it sound, a bit better. I don't know how to describe it. But it kinda sounds better!
@mckensie Yeah this particular effects chain is certainly only intended for music, things get a bit interesting if you decide to run audio drama through it haha. If you turn on one of the virtual spaces and turn off the more simple algorithmic "Verb" effect in the chain, it does sound a little cool - like you're listening to the drama in a theoter.
@samtupy oo! I wonder how JFW is a murder would sound in 3d audio?
@mckensie It'd need to get remixed to sound really good, sadly going from stereo>7.1.4>binaural does have it's limits, it works well for long ambience or music recordings, but that's in part because those play in the background of a final audio drama mix which itself has been properly spatialized. JFW is a murderer I don't think had enough stereo imaging to make it spread out when upmixing very well. Remixed properly though from the ground? Oh yeah that drama would be so sick to hear in true binaural. But that would be an insane amount of work assuming it was even possible.
@samtupy A bit off topic but me and a friend of mine were thinking of making our own games. She and I were talking about it while I was mastering the stage builder in AAC. Can you suggest any tips for begginners?
