@davesdogmaggie I used to think this was a pretty flower but couldn't look at it the same after realizing it displaces and out competes native plants
@semitones I know better than most, but this is very contained in the strip of land between my foundation and my walkway. It’s been there since my family bought this house in 1983 and probably much longer than that. I’ve got a lot of natives elsewhere on my property an even have purple coneflower in that very strip.
@davesdogmaggie very pretty garden and butterfly! When I was younger I even transplanted periwinkle and helped it spread because it was pretty and I didn't know what it was. There are some beautiful violets that grow wild in lawns around here that I hope are a beneficial part of the ecosystem

I have them too. Common violet. But since last year I’ve had rabbits, for the first time ever, and they do a pretty good job nibbling them up. Same for the wild strawberries.
