Crazy Pony@threetails my experience says they can be almost anywhere in germany, but only at lucky days with the right atmospheric conditions
I suggest you try out rural places where you are at least 30 to 50km away from the light pollution of towns, but also avoid the dust in agricultural areas in desert like summer
My best views have been in the mountains around the border to Austria
