@prettygood @Paradox From what I was taught growing up, you usually get ticks from brushing up against branches in the woods, not from the grass.

@sand @Paradox I live out in the woods, they're *everywhere*. I can walk my dog on the paved road and come home with 4 ticks on my legs.

@prettygood @Paradox i grew up in the woods. we didn't get ticks from going out in the field next to our house, but we'd pretty commonly get them if we went into the woods. are you sure you aren't confusing ticks with fleas? or does your area just happen to have a ton more ticks than mine?

@sand @Paradox no I know fleas, these are honest ticks. They're really really bad here, its just a fact of life. I didn't grow up in the country so I don't have a historical frame of reference, all I know is "holy shit that's a lot of ticks wow"
