Hello everyone!

Oh we had a wonderful adventure today. We went to a place called The Japanese Garden at Cowden in Dollar. I know its early in the season so not many flowers on show, but it was absolutely spectacular. So peaceful and relaxing. The weather was perfect for it, sunny but with a very slight breeze so it wasn't too warm. Naturally we popped into the coffee shop as well, scone and coffee were had.

After that, we popped into Dollar to visit the lovely Wee Bookshop. Now its a lovely bookshop with a really nice cafe, including an outdoor seating area. To be honest though, not as many books as I would like in a bookshop. Its very pretty, but almost screams "Influencer/instagram" perfect place to visit if you pretend to like books. Maybe thats just me though. The coffee was damn good though.

Superb day out, I have so many more photos to share with you all, but that is a job for later. For now, its time for food and pjs.

@FionaCraig I have wanted to go to the gardens for a long time, knew Billy would appreciate it too so I'm glad we made it there today, it was lovely.

@Fishercat I have so many more photos, it is absolutely stunning and almost hard to believe its in Scotland. Surprisingly I still feel pretty good after it, maybe the tranquillity of the place.

@JustFi I forgot to take a photo of the rhubarb & ginger creme brulee, which was pretty amazing. I wasn't going to have dessert, I don't usually, but it was amazing. There was also the beef and ginger skewers and the sour dough bread with almond and basil pesto.
Daughter no 1 is coming for roast lunch tomorrow. I may still be full

One to add to the list!

@IsabelB Look to the history and the absolute power of the woman behind it all, its inspiring, wonderful and amazing. I already want to go back and enjoy the peace of the place. It is just a small garden, but we spent about 2.5 hours there, well worth the entry fee.

Fascinating story, but so sad about the vandalism in the 60s...

A wonderful mystery adventure... adventures do not need to be full on action movies, some of the best are soul relaxation

@AnnonBudgie It was the best day, probably one of the most enjoyable days out in a while and it was very peaceful. I love this photo, showing the hills in the background. We had a perfect day weather wise.
