NVDA is great, and I can see how it can be a primary screen reader for a lot of people. I haven’t decided yet if that includes me. Jaws is just what I know so well.
@technocounselor I was in the same boat as you. I had used jaws sense it's dos days. smile. oh sure, I also used window-eyes from time to time, but I was 99 percent jaws. I made the choice to switch last october, because I knew I couldn't really afford my jaws hom manual lisence last november, so in october I dropped jaws, and have been using NVDA sense.
@JamminJerry @technocounselor Is there a way to virtualize the window in nvda like you can in jaws? explain the review and flat navigation modes for nvda please.
@keao @technocounselor I don't know all that stuff very well. I am still learning things myself. smile.
@JamminJerry @technocounselor got it! and I love nvda because it's fast at loading, I know DVR is going to slowly force students to use NVDA but the commands how the hell can I teach new students when they are so use to jaws?
@keao @technocounselor that is just like someone switching from IPhone to android. at least some things are simular, but still, sometimes trying to teach someone change like that is pulling teeth, especially if they go into it thinking the new thing is going to be just like the old thing.
@keao @technocounselor part of the job I have now, I sometimes teach people the very basics on how to use android, and they are coming from an IPhone, and I swair sometimes I need a strong drink by the time a one hour session is done! lol!
@JamminJerry @technocounselor Luckily I am only able to teach jaws but the company I have has someone that can teach NVDA pretty much
