Paleontology has an Epstein problem. Women in the field say it's a symptom of a deeper misogyny | CBC Radio

The names of hundreds of scientists have appeared in the Epstein files, including prominent dinosaur researchers. As the paleontology community reckons with the fallout of these revelations, women in the field say it's bringing to the forefront what they've known for years — that paleontology is rampant with abuse and harassment, funding and fame are prioritized above all else and institutions protect established men at the top at the expense of younger women trying to build careers.

I heard a news story that covered Iceland’s reaction to 2008, where the men of the country had been convinced of their superior analytical skills because they were fisherman or something.

When the nation faced economic destruction because of 2008, women swept into high office. They deployed the number of measures. The country went through a period of recession, but then recovered well.

Real change occurs in a crisis. people will reach for or choose from the options laying around at the time.

What I would like to propose because the crisis is already well underway that women and people of color come forward and say:

Centrism failed you. Right wing extremism is destroying you.

How about we drop the hate filled nonsense, tax the rich and break up their oligarchy, and restore the decision-making power of each of us in our own lives
