#neoliberalism is a bad term. to be the opposite of illiberal is a good thing. libertarian is generally used for support for market dominance over public life as opposed to government involvement. but that doesn't connote the concept of the worldwide endless grasping for and concentration of wealth and power intended here. the pushing aside of the public interest and self determination. it's unregulated #capitalism plus #imperialism. perhaps we call it #neocolonialism.

I often hear people complaining about "unregulated capitalism". And yet, when asked for examples, they almost always point to things like healthcare, or finance; AKA, some of the most heavily regulated sectors of the economy.

yes bad regulation is a thing.

sometimes it's pushed to favor bigger incumbents. sometimes regulations are an alternative to greater government involvement like a universal health care program. sometimes they are an alternative to letting an industry fail because that would have wider ranging consequences.

but of course you're here to spin this as there are idiotic leftists causing these problems with regulation. like we'd have fewer highway deaths w/o driver's licenses.

I'm not here to "spin" anything in any direction, and I don't think "the left" (insofar as that is even a thing) is entirely or even mostly to blame for problems with regulation. Democrats pass a lot of terrible laws, but republicans also pass a lot of terrible laws. Why would you imagine I'd blame "idiotic leftists"? That's not even a term I've ever used.
