The influencer montage in this video makes me want to fill my pockets with rocks and walk into the sea

What Are These Movies?!? / Whistle (2025) Movie Review

YouTube
@jalefkowit After watching two minutes of the suggested time frame of that video, I'm shoulder to shoulder with you with a few extra bricks in a backpack

@jalefkowit I'm very curious what they're intending to explain in this video, but I can't bring myself to watch a 36-minute video about the state of the movie industry.

Unfortunately no one in the comments is talking about anything except the influencer montage

@MLE_online @jalefkowit I think if you watch the first couple of minutes, you’ll get the point, and then you don’t need to watch the rest.
@ramsey @jalefkowit i did, but i don't get the point.
@MLE_online @jalefkowit I was mainly joking, but I do love that intro. 😂
@jalefkowit christ, point me to the nearest quarry.

@jalefkowit there is "The Outlaws", a black comedy from the BBC about doing community service in Bristol, where one of the characters, Lady Gabriella "Gabby" Penrose-Howe, is an influencer (with issues).

I had thought her character was a Stephen Merchant darkest satire until I saw it.

(If you haven't seen it, Christopher Walken is excellent albeit with a haircut that is almost a crime in itself.)

#TheOutlaws #Bristol

[Edit: why I couldn't spell BBC I don't know]

@jalefkowit Wow those guys are tedious as fuck, but... of the dozen movies they mocked in the intro sequence, I've seen like half of them. Dust Bunny was great!
@jwz @jalefkowit I haven’t heard of any of them.
@jalefkowit These guys need to win a Webby—or whatever awards they give to folks online these days—for that montage. It perfectly captured our modern day influencer dystopia.
