I live in a "mixed-use" neighborhood in Rochester, New York, which means it's a little bit industrial and a little bit residential. They used to be a really cool single story brick building that ran the length of the block. Half of it burned down, so it looks a bit like a wasteland now... But my front garden still fights on. It's mostly dormant right now, but there are signs of life. The birds have not entirely finished eating the coneflower seeds. The lichens are gorgeous. The yarrow and daisies are peeping through. Life soldiers on. Wait until you see the garden in a month or two!
