Like, even leftie politicians are like "I'm all for improving efficiency" like... No! Ideology and stuff put aside, as a species we're meant to have slack, a lot of it! We're not supposed to be efficient, we're supposed to be sloppy slackers, so basically hippies!

@undefined_variable I'm taking my second attempt at cognitive scientist David Verveke's fascinating lecture course Awakening From the Meaning Crisis ( https://johnvervaeke.com/series/awakening-from-the-meaning-crisis/ ) and while he hasn't precisely said this idea explicitly, at about 25% of the way though, I can feel its cracking energy, latent in the air around us. I will be very surprised if it doesn't make an appearance at some point in an upcoming lecture.

@undefined_variable It's my second attempt not because I bounced off with it being hard or boring, but because it became cumulatively more fascinating, so that I wanted to start over and pay more attention this time, taking notes, etc, rather than just watching it in the background while folding laundry.
