Load average@benroyce much as I dislike the concept of the Catholic Church, the current Pope does seem to take the job seriously.
Got to say that locally there's a notable lack of clergy at all but the biggest protest actions.

morton@benroyce This is nothing new in the teachings of the Catholic Church. John Paul II wrote in his encyclicals 40 years ago that immigrants should be treated the same as locals, that vacation time must be provided, that maternity leave must be provided, and that healthcare must be free or affordable.
I'm from Poland, and politicians say they read John Paul II before going to sleep. And what? It's pointless to talk about it. Social issues are irrelevant, only Catholic homophobia and transphobia are.
