"The California Transportation Commission approved billions in funding for car-centric projects this week during a record-breaking March heat wave in the state fueled by climate change.

Several highway-widening projects were approved Thursday afternoon through almost $1 billion in STIP funds, and critics cited a century of research demonstrating that adding lanes to roadways ultimately leads to more congestion within five to 10 years."

@CelloMomOnCars I will never be able to understand this kind of thinking.

We’ve had more than 50 years to wean ourselves from fossil fuels, but apparently that’s still not in the cards.

Apparently it was also 50 years of the fossil fuel industry to hone their denial and delay messaging. They've been using it to great effect. I wish the climate-concerned community were that effective.
