I looked up if I can get a CD player put into a Kia Niro, even a USB one. Just a CD player.

95% of the replies to forum posts about this are, "why bother? Use USB sticks!"

Which isn't the fucking point.

I have a USB stick in my current car and it's so difficult to load up an album. Whereas a CD I just shove in and it plays. A DREAM.

Does anyone have a Niro and have a way to successfully play CDs? I don't really care about having it work with the screen, I just want music out of the car speakers.

@miffyhelen I can sell you a VW Up-exclamation-mark with a 3.5mm audio in socket, if you can find a Discman. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Auto Stereo Guide

@miffyhelen Swapping out a car stereo is possible - it depends on whether your center console also controls car functions. It may not be worth it. Halfords should be able to give you some options, and they do fitting.

You could alternatively fit a CD player into your glovebox and connect it via USB. Here's an external one, but not sure you want it free floating while you drive.

@miffyhelen Even if the car doesnโ€™t support it, I wonder if you could plug it into your phone and Bluetooth stream the output from there to the car.
