If I were Trump I would absolutely lie all the time. His base is too stupid to figure it out or doesn't care and the leftists will tell everyone both sides are the same. Bernie Sanders has a frequent habit of showing up on right wing media and telling them both sides are largely corrupt.
What's the actual penalty for being the most dishonest and corrupt president of all time? The only people that oppose him are the Democrats and that's not going to change.
Next week Trump will declare that we destroyed the 150% of Iran's Military Capability
