people vibe coding their "projects" are missing out - if you don't know how your projects even work, you can't infodump about them, so like what do you even talk about then
@alice talk about projected conversion and click-through rates of your product

@alice Oh, I have a friend who is super proud of how Claude is with the Taskmaster code for his Godot game.

They try to tell you how cool the AI is and convince you that it's nice, and you should be convinced.

And then they get disappointed and pissed off when you say, "Seeing at the 2000 line for a fucking overlay in Godot. I'm not convinced you will maintain those spaghetti. Are you a cook? You know they perish!"

🤯

@alice they, unfortunately, talk about how easy it was and that now anyone can do it we don't need to pay real developers to make things anymore :/
@alice yeah that's the saddest part
@alice nothing and it's LAME
@alice isn't half the point of a big complicated engineering project being able to infodump to other cool nerds about it?

@alice
Listening to someone infodump about a new project: interested
Listening to someone infodump about anything AI: bored

Why would I be interested in that?
You didn't do shit.
Congratulations? You got the machine to do something 33% of the time.
My terrible programming can do better than that!
@alice

@alice
On the other hand, my employer is REALLY into encouraging us all to find ways to use AI. Specially, copilot, because we're all up in Microsoft's colon.

So I did my annual self assessment with copilot.
Least effort I've spent in 9 years on this bullshit, and seems to be advocating for me getting a pay increase.
I say we listen!

@alice

@alice no because just today i info dumped about fex to my wife, who is in no way a technical person, and it started with a lengthy explanation about differences between x86 and arm
@alice “How do you even gonna infodump bro?!”
