I've used D'Addario stainless strings on electric guitars (I have a nickel allergy) for a long time because they're consistent and widely available when traveling, so I'd accumuated a bunch of points and never thought about them.
I was looking for a clip-on tuner that, basically, wasn't a Snark, bought one that was perfectly fine except the way the clip worked you couldn't hide it behind a headstock without the display being upside down. I asked around a little and one of the Gretsch folks recommended these tiny D'Addario clip on tuners, so I checked my points and—hey! I could try one for free! So I did, and they're quite good. I eventually ordered a second (still free!) because they're small enough one tends to forget about them and case them up with a guitar. Then, when you're using another guitar and need a tuner you can't find one.
Any chance you've tried the Ernie Ball Cobalt Slinkies? Another nickel-allergy person says those work fine for him, but I haven't tried any yet.
