Met up with some covid cautious friends in a park today, all tested and masked. It was so lovely!

Wild to think that these people were strangers we met via instagram like 9 months ago. Very nice to know some other people irl who "get it".
Also absolutely underrated/amazing feeling to not have to beg someone to test/mask. I wish work was that easy!
Because of risk, my life doesn't have much in person stuff, personally or professionally, and is now mostly WFH, so these infrequent meetups with like minded, kind folks are very nice.
Appreciative of all the people all over who still care about the pandemic and public health in general! ❤️
This thread can also inspire you to find people in your area if youre a masker! Some of the people were found via instagram, some by local reddits!
Lots of love to everyone still masking/limiting contact, it isn’t always easy and I appreciate your care for yourself and the people around you!
@Trenton_Hoshiko I know exactly what you mean. You feel seen and you can be real. No need to filter anything you say, no need for justification or asking for open windows. It's like a little holiday.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It's so lovely to hear other people having those experiences and caring for their community in this way.
@ConnyChiwa thank you for your kind words! Definitely like a little mini vacation! :)
@Trenton_Hoshiko Sooooo happy for you!!! And not having to beg or feel awkward or be thought of as a weirdo when planning precautions is not at all underrated in my book - I DREAM of having such relationships!!

@ikuo1000 i guess I meant underrated by covid ignoring folks because it means so much to me. To feel respected like that is great, and sadly uncommon.

These people were just on instagram with a small covid cautious group and wanting more people in the area and that is how we found them. One new member was found via a local reddit by one of the members and told about this group. I never expected those kinds of places to connect with other maskers!

Thank you for your kind words, as always!

@Trenton_Hoshiko It's uplifting just to know that such groups exist and you never know where/when you might run into one!
