@johnquiggin I passed through Noosa during a backpacking trip in 1984. It reminded me a lot of La Jolla in #sandiego. It was definitely upscale even back then, but people were very friendly. I suspect that had, in part, to do with Australia having just won the Americas Cup in my hometown. I took a lot of good-natured ribbing, but also got bought a lot of great beer at the same time.
