@ItsTheManOnTheMoon the most cursed thing I ever wrote was reimplementing the marquee tag with jquery
@unlofl back when AJAX was the hot new thing and everyone was cramming it into stuff that absolutely didn't need it, I remember somebody did a cursed snarky how-to essay where they reimplemented blink by having a script call a remote API every 500ms to determine whether to show or hide an element
