@cR0w Polarizing question: Is Idaho included in the PNW? Cascadia?

I was having this convo with a friend the other day. They asked their coworkers and it apparently started an argument lmao

@phillip Yes to PNW and originally yes to Cascadia, though that depends on who you talk to now. It was originally the entire Columbia River watershed, which includes ID, but now some people say it's the midline of the Cascades West to the ocean.

@cR0w Agreed. Some people disagree on PNW, but all it takes is visiting anywhere in Northern Idaho or visiting the Boise Forest to say otherwise.

Isn’t Cascadia somewhat of a political movement too? Idaho is… pretty different from Oregon and Washington on a state government level, to put it nicely, so that distinction would make sense I supposed

@phillip Yeah, I think the ones who push for Cascadia independence tend to be the ones who try to draw the line at the Cascades due to the politics of the population on either side, but I'm not totally sure.
@cR0w The Cascades line cuts out a lot of the rural conservative area, so that tracks
@phillip It also cuts out a lot of watershed and agriculture so...
@cR0w Pfft, who needs clean drinking water and farmland? Or, even better, open land for data centers! /s
