I Write LikeI have a long and complicated relationship with poetry. For example, I still cannot call myself a poet, even though I have written some poems. I especially love it when I have to fit an idea into a predetermined structure. The attached poem is my attempt at a villanelle -- a style where certain lines repeat in a certain way, as do the rhymes. For an absolutely perfect villanelle, the rhythm should be the same in each line. So, here's my imperfect villanelle:
