Every time Trump describes the Iran war as complete, he reveals that in his mind, he is at war with a person or a group of people, and seeing them die convinces him the war is over.

What he fails to realize is that he is at war with an idea — The Islamic Republic — and the reason that idea became a problem is, it is in the heads of tens of millions.

In that sense, this is Trump’s Vietnam — only with an enemy population 4 times larger and considerably more enemy wealth and weaponry.

It is going to be his downfall. He can either choose to alienate his base and the rest of the republican thugs, by staying in a war with no end in sight which costs a billion dollars a day, or he can humiliate himself by bailing out of it, leaving the Middle East situation way worse than it was before.
