That feeling when you keep seeing "AI" fans talk about being systems-thinkers despite literally only thinking about all their problems from the perspective of a single individual: themselves.
@baldur is this related to the ‘I care about outcomes more than process’ nonsense? (where they ignore that the outcomes are also bad.)
@benjamineskola Same kind of thinking but usually different people.
@baldur I really appreciate this point. How many "Chabot-and-me" posts are about a single person having an allegedly transformative experience? Vs. how many have been about genuine, compassionate, generative (sorry) collaboration?
@abstract_tesseract Thanks. Yeah, this has been bugging me for a while.
@baldur They are being AIsocial. Throw and NT in between the A and the I and it fits as well.
@baldur « we contain multitudes » but bad
@baldur The "system" isn't even development (web, app, platform, infrastructure, etc.) itself, it's really just "what I can get done, myself, without any of you"

@baldur

My work is full of those, not just for AI.

Been thinking a lot about that, since way before the AI craze, and the trait most of them are severely missing is empathy. And it hits double:

1 - They are unable to understand from the perspective of others.
2 - From 1 they are unable to understand how things they are responsible for affect others.

This is a since long growing trend in organization culture, pretty much everywhere.
