2/2 After all that kerfuffle with technics, my neighbour had the very best idea: count trees! It's data-safe even if you talk to the trees!

'First you walk to my cherry tree, next time, you reach the first walnut tree at the field. The third day you'll make the wild cherry tree on the way to the forest. (The walnut tree is 1000 steps there and back).
That's exactly my favourite way to walk, with detours to moss, fungi, and plants!

@NatureMC du meinst vermutlich ohne waerable device? Da kann ich nur boostend helfen. Ansonsten gibts die xiaomi #miband Watches sehr günstig, sind auch angenehm leicht und dünn zum tragen und laufen mit dem freien #gadgetbrige ganz ohne tracking, Netz und GPS.

@wolf Nee, nur Handy, ganz ohne Schnickschnack. Ich brauch das nur eine bestimmte Zeit. Aber trotzdem danke! (Solche Tips helfen ja auch anderen).

@NatureMC können denn die Sensoren im Smartphone einigermaßen verlässlich Schritte zählen? Wenn ja kann es vielleicht das angesprochene @gadgetbridge sogar?

@wolf I'm non-techie. Sounds perhaps horrible for you but I just want to download an app from the play-store without having to think about much.
Otherwise, I can count my steps myself, if it wouldn't be that boring. 😂

I found 'StepMate: Private Step Counter' not taking data but never heard about it.

@NatureMC I used Pedometer (https://f-droid.org/packages/org.secuso.privacyfriendlyactivitytracker) for a long time, but it was draining my battery. So now I'm testing Stepsy (https://f-droid.org/packages/com.nvllz.stepsy) and it seems really nice.

@lrss Thanks! I wouldn't use it the whole day, it's just for a punctual outside walk - so I could deactivate it for the rest of the time.
