"The media won’t admit it, but the anti-ICE protesters in cities across the country like Minneapolis, Chicago and Los Angeles, won big."

Kristi Noem’s Replacement Bows to Protesters

ICE’s reputation is in the toilet and Trump-world knows it

Ken Klippenstein

"The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library awarded a Profile in Courage to the people of the Twin Cities—Minneapolis and Saint Paul."

Robert B. Hubbell quotes the Library's statement:

"'The people of the Twin Cities responded with extraordinary courage and resolve.'"

"Tens of thousands took to the streets to peacefully protest federal overreach and threats to immigrant families & constitutional protections, while others documented enforcement activity and alerted neighbors to federal agents’ presence. Faith leaders organized demonstrations, community groups built rapid-response networks, labor leaders and small business defended workers, and volunteers provided critical support and resources."

"Across religious, racial, and political lines, a broad coalition of residents of the Twin Cities and surrounding suburbs united in peaceful resistance despite violent confrontation and real personal risk, defending their neighbors’ rights and strengthening the national movement to protect American democracy."

@wdlindsy How many got killed ??
@swggrkllr3rd You'll have to help me understand the point to which you're objecting in what Klippenstein says.
@wdlindsy Not objecting, asking a question.
@swggrkllr3rd If your question is the number of protestors who were killed, that's public knowledge, isn't it?

@wdlindsy Dang, you just going to forget about #Portland like that? The city that fought atrocity with absurdity by deploying frogs, toads, a chicken, and a naked bike ride to combat the claims and years-old footage of the city being a warzone. Not to mention the two people shot, children tear-gassed, and efforts to eject ICE from their building.

Otherwise, keep up the good reporting. I don't believe his statements, but I guess performative contrition is better than none.

@ktneely I doubt Ken Klippenstein forgets about Portland. He might well have mentioned it — I agree with you on that point. My hashtags were meant to capture what he said.
