"After yesterday’s revelation that the Dept of Justice (DOJ) is blocking the release of a memo related to a Drug Enforcement Agency investigation into sex trafficker #JeffreyEpstein and 14 co-conspirators, Attorney General #PamBondi added more evidence to the idea that the #DOJ is engaged in covering up the relationship between members of the #Trump administration, including President Donald J. Trump himself, and #Epstein."

"March 18, #Bondi & Deputy AG Todd Blanche appeared at that “briefing,” a closed-door hearing... in which they were *not* under oath. #Democrats asked repeatedly if Bondi intended to comply with the subpoena; she refused to commit. When Summer Lee (D-PA) asked Comer if he would compel Bondi to comply and hold her in contempt if she doesn’t, Comer told her she was “bitching.”

Ultimately, the Democrats walked out of the briefing."

"“We want her under oath because we do not trust her. Why don’t we trust her? Because she’s a liar.”...

“We want her under oath because she has shown that she is involved in a cover up…. This is not a briefing... It is a fake deposition, where no one can see what’s going on, with zero transcription... and where no one is under oath, and they are allowed to freely *lie* to members of Congress.”"

@ZhiZhu Also, most critically, she's not under oath, which means you can't nail her with perjury -- which is jailable, an actual crime by itself. And perjury in this setting -- commonly called 'lying to Congress' -- can mean prison. And invariably means losing your job. It's about as serious as career suicide gets.

The point of this is to put her on the spot. She's treated like a criminal suspect, and has only a few choices. One is to quit. Another is to flip. And a third is to risk it all.

@wesdym @ZhiZhu I had an idea that might help in some manner. Yesterday I filed a FOIA request with the FBI that is designed to leverage the FBI's own SENTINEL computer system to obtain all victim reports that allege sexual abuse by certain named individuals - those being Trump, Andrew, etc.

I fully expect the FBI to simply ignore that FOIA request. When that happens my hope is that will help some members in congress to have the courage to use their power power of subpoena (plus contempt and criminal charges) to get *full* disclosure of the Epstein files.

The subreddit r/epstein is quite active. My most recent post there has a link this FOIA.

@mappingsupport We'll see, though my understanding is that individual members, as such, may not issue subpoenas. Committees and chairs may. That means that effectively, right now, the GOP decides who gets a subpoena and who doesn't -- and Democrats, on their own, cannot. It will take one or more unusually courageous or insightful Republicans to bring this power to bear right now. I feel sure the regime does not want it to happen, and is ready to punish anyone who does it to them.
