I spent so much time and effort last year tearing up the sod, laying down cardboard, and spreading inches of mulch to try to snuff out the lesser celandine along the edges of my back yard. But it's all come back with a vengeance. I suppose I'm going to have to get out there with some herbicides this weekend to knock it back before it continues to spread.

@James I was going to suggest raising the acidity since it's not keen on very dry or very acidic soils and in the process learned that adding pine needles is a myth for doing that, so that's my new thing learned today.

Really the only surefire way to get rid of the stuff is to pull it up over and over and over. They're a bit of a pain to get rid of if they find a spot they like, just like ivy and buttercups. You've got to get the roots out or it'll just keep coming back.
