Every time Trump describes the Iran war as complete, he reveals that in his mind, he is at war with a person or a group of people, and seeing them die convinces him the war is over.

What he fails to realize is that he is at war with an idea — The Islamic Republic — and the reason that idea became a problem is, it is in the heads of tens of millions.

In that sense, this is Trump’s Vietnam — only with an enemy population 4 times larger and considerably more enemy wealth and weaponry.
