Google has news on what you will need to do for still being able to sideload apps:

* enable developer options
* confirm that you are not tricked
* restart phone and re-authenticate
* wait one day
* confirm with biometrics that you know what you are doing
* decide if you only want unrestricted installs for 1 week or forever
* confirm that you accept the risks
* enjoy the few apps that still have developers motivated to develop for a user-base willing to put up with this

@grote Let's work towards good Android app support for #LinuxMobile 📱 so we can benefit from the nice #FreeSoftware apps that are there and being developed without having to worry about what Google does.

We at #phosh's @ev sure want to help there.

@agx @grote @ev indeed! That is the way forward!
@agx @grote @ev 100% agree - but would love the reverse as well. Full support for GTK on Android / iOS would make any app I write GTK based. At the moment I have to use flutter to support those platforms. I am using Phosh to write this but the reality for an app developer is that most of their users (currently 😉️) will be on Android / iOS.
@michaeldavies @grote @ev Yeah, GTK's Android backend is a great step in that direction.
@agx @grote @ev Agreed 👍️. I haven't heard much about that recently, but maybe I missed it? Is it something #gtk devs are still actively progressing? 🤔️
@michaeldavies At least per git the code still sees constant changes @grote @ev
@agx @grote @ev Cool! I need to check that out 👍️
