World's longest coastal path opens in England to the public

The King Charles coastal path will allow walkers right of access to the entire coast for the first time.

@RadicalAnthro There are one footpath and one guide post with exactly the name "King Charles III England Coast Path" in #OpenStreetMap. A few more with "England Coast Path". More to come, surely.

@Doudouosm @RadicalAnthro About 2100km is already mapped in the route relation (with that name in the "official_name" tag since about 3 years ago).

I wouldn't necessarily expect more footpaths to be tagged with that name - as I understand it, it's a route name, it doesn't mean that the ways themselves are called that.

@alan @Doudouosm @RadicalAnthro In this case I suspect official_name is a euphemism, but I'd be surprised if the name value is not a consensus position.

Personally I call the new rapid transit line in London "Crossrail" for similar reasons. No doubt I'll have to change when no one remembers that name.
