The wife and I don't have kids. BUT we did keep track of some twins that went through Trinity University (our alma mater) a couple years back

Checked in on them every couple of weeks to feed them dinner, take them to get groceries, and see what they were up to in order to make sure they weren't doing anything crazy

("Parenting" is, apparently, easy. Not sure what everyone else is whining about...)

Now our "nephew" is back in town this weekend with his new fiancé and his college buddies.
